Welcome to Sooke River Cottage. This Custom Built Riverside Cottage is located on the banks of the Sooke River a few minutes from the famous Sooke Potholes Park and the Galloping Goose Trail. Only 45 minutes from Victoria and 5 minutes from the Village of Sooke, it is a bright 1400 square foot two bedroom home situated on a 1 acre lot with a large very private deck and 240’ of river front.

The warm master bedroom is dressed with fine linens and is handily located close to the bathroom on the main floor. The second bedroom in the loft has a double bed, sitting area and stunning views of the river. The brightly painted bathroom includes a shower and "maids tub" along with piles of thick towels. The open living room is a cozy sanctuary with comfortable furniture, gas fireplace, folk art, antiques, hardwood floors and rows of windows soaring to the vaulted ceiling. Views of the lawn, decks and river complete the scene with many pots of herbs, flowers and shrubs to enjoy.

The cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, which opens directly onto the deck and features a gas barbeque and patio furniture. The path down to the river, through a stand of ancient evergreens leads to a private stretch of river abundant with wildlife. A year round destination that includes an amazing run of spawning Salmon coming up the river during the months of October and November. This secluded spot is the perfect escape for swimming, fishing, rock skipping or just relaxing right at your front door.

Sooke River Cottage is located on the banks of the Sooke River a few minutes from the famous Sooke Potholes Park and the Galloping Goose Trail. The cottage is situated only 45 minutes from Victoria and 5 minutes from the Village of Sooke.

Directions to Sooke River Cottage from Victoria:

  • Head north on Douglas St. and continue north (it will become Highway 1)
  • From Highway 1, take exit 14 toward Langford/Sooke
  • Merge onto Millstream Rd and continue south
  • Continue onto Veterans Memorial Parkway and proceed south
  • Turn right at Langford Parkway
  • Turn left at Jacklin Road
  • Turn right at Sooke Road
  • Turn right at Sooke River Road

  • Cancellation Policy: Refund of deposit less $50 administration fee if notified prior to 60 days. Loss of deposit if notification received within 60 days and we are unable to re-book!

Galloping Goose Trail - an old rail line converted into a hiking/biking trail that runs more than 100 km. from Victoria to Leechtown a former Gold Rush Community. A basically flat, easy trail with numerous access points offers spectacular views of the Ocean, Lakes, the Sooke Basin, river and Rail Trestles. Sooke Rotary Pier and Marine Boardwalk - One of the latest additions to the Sooke waterfront is the new marine boardwalk, stretching along the waterfront from Murray Rd. to Ed Macgregor Park in the heart of Sooke.
Beaches Between Sooke and Port Renfrew - over a dozen stunning beaches are located between Sooke and Port Renfrew (1 hour by car). The accesses range from easy and short to difficult and steep.
